OMNI has been retained by Traders Insurance in their search for a Manager of IT. The Company’s profitable increase in written premiums has given rise to opportunities in its leadership structure. Reporting directly to the COO/General Counsel, this role is located in Kansas City, MO and local candidates are preferred; however, individuals with relevant insurance industry experience outside of KC, would be considered.

 

The Manager of IT will lead and coordinate IT-related activities of the organization, with a focus on project management and deliverables advancing new systems in response to high growth. This person will also assist in the selection and management of several key IT provider relationships. The Manager of IT will work closely with senior leadership to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support technology solutions for core critical business systems to ensure continued desired operational efficiencies and financial.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Understand the processes and methodologies that enable Traders to create extraordinary policy and claims experiences for its external and internal customers.   
  • Parlay that deep understanding into researching, selecting, testing and deploying core and supportive application solutions.   
    Provide leadership and strategy regarding industry trends and new technologies for the sale, delivery and servicing of insurance products through the management of critical relationships with technology providers.
  • Partner with senior management to develop the business case for technology solutions that leverage our talented team of insurance professionals.
  • Manage project initiatives that streamline processes and automate workflows.  
  • Lead complex technical projects or business issues requiring state of the art technical or industry knowledge. 
  • Implementation of solutions will include managing vendors, enforcing schedules and ensuring smooth integration and migration. 
  • Maintain current systems; evaluating, recommending, testing, and install new technology in partnership with selected Managed Service Provider and other key vendors.
  • Contribute information and recommendations to strategic plans and prepares, reviews, and completes action plans.
  • Ensure the implementation of administrative software/hardware to ensure that all functions work interdependently.
  • Determine IT service requirements by analyzing needs of users/departments, prioritizing all modifications to core systems applications.
  • Develop and implement documentation requirements for problem resolution.
  • Meets IT financial objectives by preparing an annual budget, scheduling expenditures, and maintaining costs to stay within the annual budget.



Qualifications

  • 10 + years of work experience as a Network and/or Systems Administrator with knowledge of Active Directory, Exchange, Print Servers, etc.
  • Proficiency with networking concepts and technologies including software application implementation, vendor management and automating workflows.
  • Excellent understanding of project management principles and proven experience in planning, organization, and development.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and vendor management skills. High ethical standards and commitment to Traders core values.
  • Establish credibility and build rapport to be recognized as subject matter expert internally and externally.
  • Influential and collaborative communication style. Forward thinker and business savvy to represent this critical position to vendors and leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to apply technology solutions to business problems with an in-depth knowledge of industry trends, and regulations as they relate to technology and the insurance industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or IT related field.
