    OMNI has been retained by Cross Manufacturing, Inc. to provide support in their search for a Controller; the company is growing and leads a strong accounting professional to best maximize their growth and new ERP system. This privately-owned organization produces one of the most extensive hydraulic component lines on the market today. Reporting to the President, the Controller serves as an integral member (and financial leader) of the senior management team and is an active contributor to this established company’s strategic planning and execution.

     

    Based in Overland Park, the Controller is accountable for safeguarding the company’s assets- planning, implementing and ensuring key financial objectives are achieved and financial- related responsibilities are completed. This includes direct accountability for financial statement preparation, LIFO and Standard Cost Inventory analysis, budget preparation, variance analysis, fixed asset management, corporate tax activities, and cash management. As well as the management of investments, payable and receivable accounts, general insurance, and governmental reporting.

    Responsibilities

    • Collect, Prepare and report cash flow through data entry, budget analysis and tracking operating finances.
    • Manage and Oversee inventory cycle counting, including annual LIFO index adjustment
    • Review and monitor cash reports, accounts, receivable collections and payable disbursements
    • Maintain banking relationships and perform treasury functions associated with investment portfolios
    • Complete monthly audit schedules on key General Ledger accounts and coordinate the annual financial statement audit
    • Oversight of accounting staff (two people) and ensure adherence to GAAP standards.
    • Ensure compliance with all governmental regulations and insurance captive requirements and administer Cross’ Environmental, Health and Safety policies effectively.
    • Meet and communicate regularly with leadership team in order to contribute to key decisions, financial operations and development of the corporation’s plans, programs, and policies
    • Enhance organizational profitability through enhancement of the ERP system regarding budgets, margins, inventory and related metrics. Support new business development through expert analysis and planning.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline; CPA preferred
    • Demonstrated success as accounting and financial leader in a lean manufacturing environment, including management and supervisory responsibilities
    • Hands-on financial leadership combined with strong problem-solving and time management skills
    • Proficiency in GAAP, cost accounting, and ability to drive continuous improvement activities using Lean accounting principles
    • High level of integrity, dependability, and the ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner
    • Ability to inspire, stimulate and encourage trust, direction, organizational alignment and vitality to engage employees and generate extraordinary results
    • Strong technical proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel SME level) and ERP software
