  • Overview

    Our client, a leading research company seeks an Sr. Information Technology Technician to support employee’s usage and function of internal technology such as computers, telephones, software, laptops, mobile phones, etc. Utilizing an automated Help Desk System this role will maintain, track and respond to user requests and provide efficient and lasting solutions. Acting as a resource and source of knowledge, the IT Sr. Information Technology Technician will be expected to oversee, support, and coach Junior technicians to supplement the IT department and System Administrators.

    Responsibilities

    • Enhance and develop quality support methods and communication skills through coaching feedback
    • Provide knowledge and solve complex problems for most workstation and installation issues
    • Assist in the resolution of user and support issues among company sites, ensuring timely distribution of knowledge and a positive impact on user satisfaction
    • Utilizing the HelpDesk system- document the issue, communication and a solution of the incident- logging all calls and technical actions taken
    • Identify and resolve recurrent user problems
    • Prepare computers for onboarding employees, loading systems with the appropriate software and operating systems and programs
    • Provides training to employees on the use of hardware and software programs and systems
    • Assists in evaluating end user needs and recommends appropriate equipment and software configurations.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, related field, or pertinent and extensive knowledge and experience
    • 8 years + associated and relevant experience (IT operation, technical support. Etc.)
    • Excellent customer service skills.
    • Advanced knowledge in the configuration/installation/troubleshooting of Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10 and Cisco Phone Equipment
    • Advanced knowledge in PC and portable hardware
    • Advanced knowledge in printers, Networking protocols DHCP & DNS, TCP/IP, Active Directory, RDP, Terminal Services, AirWatch Mobile Device Management, Windows Deployment Services WDS and Antivirus software;
    • Advanced knowledge in mobile smartphones, iPhone, Android and Blackberry
    • Intermediate knowledge of VPN technology, Microsoft Exchange 2013, Windows Server 2003-2012, Office 2007 to 2013 and VMware technology.
