    Reporting to the CFO/COO, the Accounting Administrator will perform business, accounting, and benefits administration assistance for JFS. This includes the management of all day-to-day accounting activities related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, tax filings, etc.


    This role is an exciting opportunity for someone with 2-5 years' accounting/bookkeeping experience who is eager to grow in their role, learn new skills, and interact with all levels of the organization.     • Responsible for accounts payable functions including assisting with invoice management, filing and organizing vendor files, completing check requests, and inputting vendor data and invoices into accounting software.
    • Record deposits into the system; maintain and organize all deposit and other cash receipt information.
    • Reconcile accounting software to development software for contributions received.
    • Support CFO/COO with contract billings as assigned including gathering data, printing supporting documentation such as invoices, payroll forms, cleared check copies, etc.
    • Assist with month-end journal entries including payroll journal entries, prepaid expense amortization, deferred revenue, and other entries needed to close month-end.
    • Manage monthly bank reconciliations and assist with other accounting/ bookkeeping entries or process as needed or assigned by CFO/COO.
    • Oversee administrative functions associated with benefits – medical, dental, 401k, FSA, HSA, etc.
    • Assist CFO/COO with grant applications and reporting as needed.
    • Process bi-weekly agency payroll.
    • Provide support for annual budget preparation, including data entry and preparing of supporting schedules.
    • Provide support for annual audit by preparing audit schedules, and other audit related tasks as needed.


    • Demonstrated two to five years' accounts payable, receivable and payroll experience.
    • Proficiency with QuickBooks Accountant required.
    • Experience with Paylocity payroll system a plus.
    • Knowledge of Windows-based applications with excellent proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office required.
    • Must be detail oriented, an independent worker with excellent problem solving, analytical, organizational and communication skills.

    • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across all levels of the organization.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
