    OMNI is honored to have been engaged by Baldwin Denim & Collection to assist in their search for a Merchandise Planner and Allocator to be located in Kansas City.

While Matt and his wife ran their successful Kansas City boutique, Standard Style, customers asked for the perfect, American-made premium denim. People longed for a denim line that was sophisticated with modern fits that embodied authentic, classic American style. Drawing upon the culture and roots of his hometown, Kansas City, Matt Baldwin set out to create inspired denim and ready-to-wear apparel that maintains its history and American foundation using impeccable craftsmanship and modern design.     This role will be responsible for managing and planning merchandise inventory buys, positions and markdown strategies to drive departmental sales, inventory, profit and sell-through objectives. This position will create and maintain store sales and stock plans by class. In addition, this role allocates merchandise to the stores based on store sales, receipt and inventory plans and manages store inventory levels to maximize sales, gross margin and inventory turn. 




    • Build financial sales, gross margin and inventory plans at a weekly level on a seasonal basis
    • Compute buy plans by season, category and style
    • Re-forecast business in-season based on current performance, present revised projections and recommendations to cross functional partners and senior leadership
    • Review, analyze and adjust allocation plans incorporating sales trends
    • Create and plan product assortments (item, color, size) for each product category
    • Manage replenishment plans to ensure that sales are optimized and stores are without missing SKUs
    • Place orders for both seasonal and replenishment product buys
    • Track all inbounding receipts and communicate to cross-functional teams of any possibility of late receipts
    • Analyze size selling at store and channel level. Make recommendations to improve size ownership going forward
    • Provide in-season financial projections and strategies while identifying risks and opportunities to maximize profits
    • Provide quantitative analysis to support the business needs and to direct future purchases
    • Identify business risks and opportunities and propose solutions to maximize sales


    • Merchandise planning, budgeting and forecasting knowledge
    • Experience in key distribution channels and operating models – Retail, Digital, and Wholesale
    • Organizational skills to coordinate feedback from a variety of sources
    • Practical understanding of demand planning and inventory management processes
    • Ability to analyze trends and use that information to effectively plan and forecast
    • Strong analytical and verbal skills
    • Microsoft Office suite with advanced skills in Excel
    • 1-3 years’ retail planning and distribution experience
