    OMNI is honored to be retained by Emmanuel Family & Child Development Center in their search for a Program Director. Our client is seeking an experienced professional to provide oversight, leadership, management and vision for the organization.

     

    Since 1986, Emmanuel Family & Child Development has been committed to providing outstanding early childcare services in a safe, loving and educational environment for children in poverty, empowering their families through advocacy, emergency aid, and education.

     

    The organization is in high growth-mode, having recently received a Kauffman Foundation grant to support new initiatives, including the construction of a brand-new facility slated to open in Fall 2019.

    Responsibilities

    Reporting to the Executive Director, the Program Director ensures that Emmanuel Family & Child Development Center has the proper operational processes, accreditation and regulatory accountability, and ongoing staff development necessary to safely and effectively provide nurturing and educational early childhood programs.  Additional responsibilities include:

    • Provide day-to-day leadership and management, including establishing policy and procedures, that reflects the mission and core values of Emmanuel Family & Child Development Center.
    • Routinely measure effectiveness of care and education programs.
    • Provide timely, accurate and complete reports on program operations, quality measures and initiatives in order to foster a success-oriented, accountability environment. Provide Board of Directors reports as requested by CEO.
    • Facilitate our ability to attract, recruit and retain required care and education staff. Spearhead the development, communication and implementation of effective care and education growth strategies and processes, leading to continued effectiveness and growth of the organization.
    • Provide support in advocacy and emergency services to empower children and families.
    • Establish and adhere to conflict resolution protocol and procedures to address parent/guardian, staff and children’s concerns.
    • Represent the organization with highest professionalism when engaging with partners, volunteers, individual and foundation/corporate funders and other community stakeholders.

    Qualifications

    • Masters degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
    • Minimum 8 years of progressive responsibility in direct child/parent interface, including supervision/management within early childhood setting(s).
    • Knowledge of Missouri Accreditation as well as Head Start and Early Head Start Standards, with demonstrated ability to meet or exceed these requirements.
    • Experience in urban, nonprofit settings is preferred.
    • Skilled in organizational development, personnel management, budget and resource management and strategic planning.
    • Process improvement and quality assurance training and/or certifications.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to positively and effectively relate to parents/guardians, children and employed colleagues.
    • Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities and guiding people.
