    OMNI is honored to be retained by Women’s Foundation in their search for a Chief Development Officer. This outstanding opportunity will oversee the development and implementation of strategies designed to maximize funding to support Women’s Foundation research, policy, Appointments Project®, expansion, and execution of the mission to advance all women’s economic and civic leadership.

    Responsibilities

    This newly created position reports directly to a highly respected and committed President & CEO and leads a growing team.  Key accountabilities include:

    • Provide leadership and direction with all long-term strategic and operational planning, and programs related to fund development efforts.
    • Take the leadership role in prospecting for new donors, further developing current ones, and solicit major gifts through cultivating and fostering relationships with key funders throughout Kansas City, the region and nationally.
    • Actively engage and energize the staff, volunteers, board members, funders, and strategic partnering organizations.
    • Directly supervises assigned development staff by developing and coaching to create a motivated, high performing team to reach the strategic goals of Women’s Foundation.

    Qualifications

    • Demonstrated success in a fund development leadership position; with a strong focus on individual, corporate and foundation giving.
    • A strong passion for the mission to advance all women’s economic and civic leadership.
    • Demonstrated highly effective interpersonal, conversational and presentation skills leading to developing and maintaining positive relationships with a broad spectrum of donors/prospects.
    • Excellence in organizational management with the ability to coach staff, manage and develop high-performance teams and to work closely with a volunteer Board of Directors.
    • Strong relationship management skills and fundraising experience with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders.
    • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s Degree preferred. Passion, idealism, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed leadership style.
