    OMNI is honored to be retained by CertTech, LLC, in their search for a Technical Engineering Manager to oversee the electrical and mechanical engineering staff and projects in their Albuquerque operations.

     

    CertTech is a premier provider of test automation services, test systems and product solutions, with an emphasis on military/aerospace, transportation and commercial avionics applications. This role is based in Albuquerque, NM.

    Responsibilities

    In addition to managing the electrical/mechanical engineering staff, the Technical Engineering Manager is responsible for contributing to the design, development, and integration of systems, hardware and software designs in a team environment.

    • Mentor, lead, and evaluate respective department and direct reports to ensure performance objectives are achieved.
    • Create and execute development plans and revise as needed to meet changing business needs and requirements.
    • Coordinate projects and direct the integration of technical activities to accomplish company goals.
    • Develop and implement policies, standards and procedures utilized for the engineering and technical work within the department.
    • Serve as a liaison between Program Manager and staff to keep the team well informed on that status of development efforts.
    • Manage the technical risks throughout all assigned projects.
    • Consistently deliver high-quality services to clients.

    Qualifications

    • 9+ years' progressively complex engineering experience, with 3+ years' management experience required.
    • Strong technical communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to effectively interface with other departments, customers, government representatives, and other key stakeholders.
    • Customer-focused and able to formulate plans based on the development of innovative new designs in resolving advanced technical engineering problems.
    • Experience with National Instruments, TestStand, Keysight VEE, PXIe/AXIe, Data Acquisition, and Virtual Instrumentation.
    • Proven knowledge and understanding of Instrumentation, Test Automation, Verification and Validation.
    • Demonstrated leadership skills with proven success managing a team.
    • College Degree: Physics, Computer Science, Electrical/Mechanical/Systems Engineering or related field is required.
    • United States citizenship is required.
    • Ability to obtain a DOE security clearance is required (existing security clearance is a plus).

    Desirable Experience:

    • Digital or microprocessor control of systems.
    • Deployment on the FPGA level, CPU/RTOS level; embedded systems architecture and project development for control of complex, high-consequence system-of-systems; familiarity with DoD technical review process (at a minimum: SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR).
    • Mixed-signal (analog/digital) circuit design; embedded systems; analysis, design, and implementation of hardware systems to include digital, analog, and RF.
    • Experience with C/C++, MATLAB/Simulink, Xilinx Vivado Design Suite, VHDL, PADS PCB Design Software, SPICE circuit simulation tools, Microsoft Project.
