OMNI is honored to be retained by Kansas City-based Brunson Instrument Company in their search for a Production Planner.  The Production Planner is responsible for planning and coordinating all CNC machining and assembly to ensure productivity and delivery goals are met in the most efficient and cost-effective manner possible.  This position will work closely with the Engineering, Program Management, Purchasing and Manufacturing teams and serve as a critical link between each to support planning activities company wide.

  • Plan and manage the production schedule, including managing work orders and inventory levels and coordinating products and material movement through the manufacturing process to meet production goals and shipment timelines.
  • Monitor and manage inventory to meet production and customer needs; identify supply chain concerns, develop proactive solutions, and communicate with company leadership and customers regarding their impact as they arise.
  • Collaborate and communicate with Engineering, Program Management, Purchasing, and Manufacturing teams to facilitate the successful execution of all CNC machining and assembly work.
  • Evaluate existing workflows and processes to identify opportunities to maximize productivity.


  • Must have scheduling/planning experience working in a CNC machine shop or hard goods manufacturing operation
  • High School Diploma with 3+ years of production planning experience; post-secondary degree or advance planning systems knowledge preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and prioritize appropriately
  • Demonstrated good judgement in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions related to material planning and production scheduling
  • Clear communicator in both verbal and written interactions
  • Self-starter, quick to learn new skills and able to proactively identify new opportunities
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel, and Material Requirement Planning (MRP) software programs. Experience with EPICOR preferred.
