They are seeking a dynamic Director of Fund Development, a visionary leader who will help shape the future.  Your expertise will guide them with a strong grant focus, as well as with the development and execution of an annual fundraising program, intricately aligned with their overarching strategic plan.

Responsibilities

Reporting to the President/CEO, the Director of Fund Development will:

  • Lead and implement the overall fund development strategy and activities, including the opportunity to build a team as future fund development activities require.
  • Research, write, and apply for large grants on the local, state, federal, foundation and corporate level, and cultivate relationships with Foundations.
  • Create and execute strategies to increase unrestricted income, particularly through individual gifts.
  • Secure meetings with major gifts donors and prospects and engage them in face-to face solicitations.
  • Advise on the implementation of fundraising events, annual gala events, and smaller events.
  • Manage donor database and ensure timely gift recording and donor acknowledgement.
  • Keep the President/CEO and Board members informed of trends, development efforts, key donor information, and guide them to build donor relationships.
  • Serve as liaison with the Resource Development Committee of the Board of Directors.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in nonprofit management, business, communication, public relations, or related fields. Advanced degree preferred.
  • 5+ years’ experience in fund development with at least 3 years in a senior development position with proficiency in strategy, planning, organizing, executing, assessing, and effective follow-up skills.
  • Strong grant writing skills with proven experience/success.
  • Strong relationship building and leadership skills.
  • Experience in planning successful donor campaigns and events.
  • Familiarity with donor management software.
