OMNI is honored to partner with TS2 Hospitality in the search and selection of a Maintenance Engineer to join their team for their Hampton Inn property in Southeast Kansas City. The Maintenance Engineer is a critical part of the hotel’s management team, responsible for delivering excellent customer satisfaction and providing routine repair work, preventative maintenance work, and special projects.

Responsibilities

  • Promote and model company culture centered around company mission and values as part of the hotel’s management team.
  • Review, organize, manage, and prioritize maintenance requests from guests and other team members to maximize guest satisfaction and manage maintenance costs.
  • Design and implement preventative maintenance processes, procedures, and schedules in accordance with hotel brand standards and recommendations.
  • Estimate, plan for and manage warranty programs and maintenance-related expenditures for budget tracking and planning and assist in the budgeting process.
  • Solicit bids and evaluate proposals from contractors to perform work not handled internally and oversee contractors to ensure work is completed to specifications in a cost-effective and timely manner.
  • Maintain exterior areas including building exterior and parking lot for maintenance, landscaping/mowing, painting, snow removal, etc.
  • Complete and organize maintenance logs as required by brand standards, government regulations and property ownership team.
  • Implement employee safety procedures, manage initial and ongoing staff safety training, and complete all required documentation for brands and government regulators.

Qualifications

  • A positive attitude and a commitment to working as a team to deliver excellent service.
  • Passionate and knowledgeable about building maintenance, with at least 1-2 years of maintenance or construction trade experience.
  • Natural ability to work independently and a skilled problem solver.
  • Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
  • Some computer skills required.
  • Able to prioritize and organize tasks while managing multiple projects at once.
  • Able to speak directly with guests to identify problems and resolve issues with upset guests.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Flexible schedule (weekend and holiday availability are required).
  • Able to handle stressful, high-pressure situations and conflicts in a calm, professional manner.
  • Physically able to perform all responsibilities including but not limited to bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing for extended periods, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to successfully pass a drug test and background check.
