Genuen is seeking an Engineering Technologist to work as a full-time non-exempt member of the operations team. Genuen is a premier provider of test automation services, test systems and product solutions for global companies in highly regulated industries with an emphasis in military/aerospace, transportation, and commercial avionics. Genuen is an ISO 9001:2015 certified company based in Lenexa, KS with offices in Albuquerque, NM and Saginaw, MI. This position is on-site in Albuquerque, NM.

Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Director, Government Operations, the Engineering Technologist will contribute to the fabrication, assembly, and integration of test systems in a team environment. This role is responsible for assembling, modifying, maintaining, and repairing electronics equipment and systems to ensure proper functioning.

Responsibilities include:

  • Replace defective components or parts, using hand tools and precision instruments.
  • Set up and operate specialized or standard test equipment to diagnose, test, or analyze the performance of electronic components, assemblies, or systems.
  • Perform hardware and software-based test procedures and interpret the pass/fail results.
  • Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions.
  • Perform preventative maintenance or calibration of equipment or systems.
  • Prepare or maintain design, testing, or operational records and documentation.
  • Assemble circuitry for electronic systems according to engineering instructions, production specifications, or technical manuals.
  • Inspect newly installed equipment to adjust or correct operating problems.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent training in relevant field.
  • 8+ years of hands on technical experience.
  • Good Windows based computer skills.
  • Ability to read, understand, and use as build instructions including schematics and wiring diagrams; mechanical fabrication and assembly drawings; and component datasheets and assembly instructions.
  • Use of common electronic/electrical fabrication tools.
  • Use of basic electronic test equipment for troubleshooting and calibration.
  • IPC 620 / J-STD-001 understanding or certification is a plus. 
  • United States Citizenship required.
  • Active DOE “Q” or DoD Top Secret security clearance is required.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
