CTA is seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Tax Consultant to join our vibrant team. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients, providing expert advice and tailored tax solutions to help them achieve their financial goals. This role can be filled in the Huntsville, Alabama Corporate Office or as a home office, remote work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Achieve client satisfaction through exceptional service and quality, defendable work products.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients and co-workers.
  • Maintain knowledge of federal and state tax credits, including Cost Segregation, 179D, and R&D credits.
  • Manage client and co-worker expectations effectively.
  • Assist and follow the direction of Tax Managers and R&D Project Managers in study analysis, calculations, and tax form preparation.
  • Prepare client tax forms (e.g., 481(a), Form 3115) and tax credit calculations.
  • Work with federal and state tax forms for the R&D credit.
  • Review and analyze client financial data, contracts, and other relevant documents.
  • Prepare written technical narratives related to project findings.
  • Assist in conducting and documenting client R&D and cost segregation studies.
  • Prepare audit support documentation when assigned to an audit engagement team.
  • Complete assigned trainings and perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Proven experience in reading and interpreting business and personal tax returns.
  • Familiarity with managing Fixed Assets.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent customer service skills, along with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly organized with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
