  • Coordinate the implementation of accounting systems, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of all financial processes, policies, and data management.
  • Manage the administration of the school’s financial aid program, including evaluating third-party recommendations and making final award decisions.
  • Supervise the design, implementation, and maintenance of the school’s accounting software (Blackbaud), ensuring seamless financial operations.
  • Compile, analyze, and prepare financial information for journal entries, and conduct monthly general ledger account reconciliations.
  • Conduct financial analyses of investments, lease/buy options, and programs to provide insights for sound decision-making.
  • Assist in preparing, monitoring, and forecasting the school’s annual budget in collaboration with the CFO.
  • Oversee the distribution of monthly general ledger reports to budget managers and account holders.
  • Help prepare quarterly financial reports for the Finance Committee and Board of Trustees.
  • Coordinate the annual audit process, managing inventory, depreciation schedules, work papers, financial statement preparation, and debt compliance.
  • Administer the school’s retirement plans, monitor contributions, and oversee the audit of the 403(b) plan.
  • Manage bad debt reserves, write-offs, and collections to safeguard the school’s assets.
  • Ensure compliance with IRS and vendor 1099 reporting requirements.
  • Supervise the Purchasing Card program, maintaining oversight of school expenditures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field; CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience, preferably in an educational or non-profit environment.
  • Strong computer literacy and experience with Blackbaud or equivalent software.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact diplomatically with diverse members of the Rockhurst community.
