BHL is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Event Manager to enhance membership engagement for our association clients. This role is critical in delivering top-tier event experiences, from single-day meetings to multi-day conferences and special events. The Event Manager will collaborate with internal teams to implement best practices in event management and ensure seamless, successful events that exceed client expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Event Execution: Plan and execute a range of client events, including multi-day conferences, golf outings, and Capitol Days. Manage all aspects of events from initial planning to on-site support and post-event evaluations.
  • Logistical Coordination: Oversee event logistics, including timelines, venue setup, audio-visual coordination, and catering. Ensure all elements align with client goals and create a memorable experience.
  • Vendor Relations: Serve as the main liaison for hotels, Convention & Visitor Bureaus, and vendors to ensure smooth communication and collaboration, problem-solving any issues that arise.
  • Budget Management: Collaborate with clients to develop event budgets, monitor expenses, and provide regular updates to ensure transparency and adherence to financial targets.
  • Committee Management: Organize and manage planning committees, including preparing agendas and coordinating logistics for efficient communication and engagement.
  • Organizational Support: Support overall BHL operations, coordinating with volunteers and staff to meet project deadlines and uphold quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of three years in event or conference management.
  • Skills: Exceptional organizational and relationship-building skills, with proficiency in event management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred; CMP certification is a plus.
  • Travel & Flexibility: Ability to travel as needed, with occasional non-traditional work hours to meet client demands.
