OMNI is honored to partner with TS2 Hospitality in the search and selection of a Maintenance Engineer to join their team for their Four Points by Sheraton property in Olathe. The Maintenance Engineer is a critical part of the hotel’s leadership team, responsible for maintaining the building, and assisting in training other leaders and associates on building-related tasks and emergency procedures. Responsibilities

  • Complete expected maintenance tasks outlined on daily, weekly and monthly checklists; and propose updates to the checklists as needed to protect the property and guest experience.
  • Address and respond to maintenance-related work orders with appropriate urgency based on the issue and the impact to guests or team members.
  • Encourage team members to watch & listen for maintenance related needs & praise for following work order process.
  • Perform quarterly preventative maintenance on each guest room, hotel common areas and systems as outlined in hotel documentation, coordinating with housekeeping as appropriate.
  • Knowledge of hotel mechanical, electrical, plumbing and IT systems to perform basic troubleshooting; identifying when to seek outside assistance.
  • Work with contractors as needed to address issues that cannot be resolved internally, requesting bids, obtaining approval from the General Manager before agreeing to proposals. Then ensure work is completed to specifications in a cost-effective and timely manner.
  • Maintain the condition and cleanliness of the parking lot and exterior landscaping, assisting with maintenance, landscaping, trash pickup, mowing, painting, snow removal, etc. as needed or directed by management.
  • Complete, organize and maintain all maintenance and building related logs as required by brand standards, government regulations and management.
  • Train associates and other leaders on all building related emergency procedures, performing routine follow-up to ensure all are prepared to handle emergency situations.
  • Lead by example by fully understanding and adhering to processes and procedures directed by senior leadership regarding guest service, work habits, following checklists, steps of process and emergency procedures.
  • Complete and follow training as directed by managers/trainers, including brand, company and in-person instruction.
  • Attend all mandatory hotel and company meetings including weekly leader virtual meetings.

Qualifications

  • A positive attitude and a commitment to working as a team to deliver excellent service.
  • Passionate and knowledgeable about building maintenance, with at least 1-2 years of maintenance or construction trade experience.
  • Natural ability to work independently and a skilled problem solver.
  • Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
  • Some computer skills are required.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize tasks while managing multiple projects at once.
  • Ability to handle stressful, high-pressure situations and conflict in a calm, professional manner.
  • Flexible schedule (weekend and holiday availability are required.)
  • Physically able to perform all responsibilities including but not limited to bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, standing for extended periods, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Able to successfully pass a drug test and background check.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and with or without reasonable accommodations.
