Pearce Construction is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their team in Kansas City. The Project Manager is a key position and will manage the entire construction process from Preconstruction through Construction Closeout. This person will support and collaborate with the Project Superintendent (Field) for the duration of a project. They are responsible for establishing effective relationships and executing collaborative problem solving with project team members, owners, subcontractors, and vendors. This position requires strong construction administration, and an in-depth knowledge of the construction process including materials, methods, cost estimating, and scheduling.

 

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a positive and professional working relationship with all project team members while fostering enhanced relationships with architects, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Perform Preconstruction tasks including preliminary estimating, scheduling, and constructability analysis.
  • Provide consultation, direction, and issue resolutions to owners, subcontractors & suppliers.
  • Perform construction administrative tasks including review and coordination of shop drawings and submittals, subcontracts, owner and subcontractor change orders, potential project changes, and construction scheduling.
  • Perform final estimating for projects including collecting and reviewing bids from subcontractors and suppliers and assembling final GMP estimate for COO review.
  • Ensure project team works safely while meeting design specifications, budget, schedule, quality & OSHA safety standards.
  • Create and maintain project schedule by planning, monitoring, and reviewing critical dates and milestones and in coordination with the Project Superintendent utilizing project software.
  • Collaborate with the COO and accounting department to review monthly project billings.
  • Maintain responsibility for the budget and scope of the project.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, civil engineering or construction science is preferred.
  • Five plus years of on project work experience in architecture, civil engineering or construction required.
  • Experience reading, understanding, and interpreting project documents, drawings, specifications, schedules, and scopes of work.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to interact and communicate effectively and productively with others.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, Excel, Microsoft Project, Bluebeam and Procore required.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, perform in high-pressure environments and problem solve.
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership, work independently, and take initiative
  • Proven success in project management completion.
  • Working knowledge of the commercial construction industry.
