Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, especially in social work, psychology, or a related behavioral health field.
- 3–5 years of management experience in customer service, medical records, and utilization review—preferably in a behavioral health setting.
- Experience working with families, accessing behavioral health services, and navigating systems such as Kansas Medicaid, DCF, etc.
- Knowledge of referral, intake, and admission processes, including KanCare, KDADS, DCF, and MCO regulations relevant to KidsTLC programs.
Language Ability
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting insurance forms, contracts, and clinical documentation.
Mathematical Skills
- Ability to perform basic math: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
Cognitive Demands
- Strong problem-solving, judgment, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to build trust and respect with clients, staff, and partners.
- Must be self-directed and able to collaborate effectively.
- Confident and professional when managing crisis or conflict situations.
Computer Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
- Familiarity with industry-specific software and web-based systems.
Physical Demands
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear.
- Occasionally required to lift/move up to 25 pounds.
- Must have adequate vision to perform computer-related tasks.
- May be required to respond physically in situations involving agitated youth or guardians.
Environmental Adaptability
- Standard office environment.
- Fast-paced setting with moderate to high noise levels.
