Genuen is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Engineering Technician to join their Lenexa, KS team. This is a full-time, non-exempt, direct hire position. Genuen is a premier provider of test automation services, test systems and product solutions for global companies in highly regulated industries with an emphasis in military/aerospace, transportation, and commercial avionics. Genuen is an ISO 9001:2015 certified company based in Lenexa, KS with offices in Albuquerque, NM and Saginaw, MI. This position is on-site in Lenexa, KS.

Responsibilities

The Engineering Technician will assist in the fabrication and assembly of systems, learn to read and understand build instructions, and develop skills in using common electronic/electrical fabrication tools. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or someone looking to start their career in engineering technology.

  • Assist in the assembly, modification, and maintenance of electronics equipment and systems including but not limited to: mounting electrical control panels; building cables, chassis, and panels; soldering connectors and splices; wiring systems; mounting equipment (custom and COTs).
  • Learn to read and understand build instructions, including schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Develop skills in using common electronic/electrical fabrication tools.
  • Assist in maintaining accurate records and documentation.
  • Collaborate with engineers and technologists to resolve issues and improve processes.
  • Maintain the lab/fabrication area tools and equipment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree or equivalent certification/education in a related field (engineering technology, electronics, or a related field.)
  • Basic understanding of electronics and electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with Windows-based computer systems.
  • Basic knowledge of IPC standards is preferred.
  • Familiarity with engineering documentation and redlining prints is preferred.
  • Experience with soldering, wiring, and assembling electronic components is preferred.
  • Must be willing to learn and take direction from experienced engineers and technologists.
  • Manual dexterity and ability to work with hand tools and precision instruments.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs. and stand for extended periods of time.
  • United States citizenship or permanent resident status is required.
